General Comments: This species is often found in leaf litter and deep within grass tussocks. The web can also be observed attached to the sides of large rocks. The web is a smaller version of that of Steatoda spp. (Hancock, pers. obs.).

Recorded Habitats:  Leaf litter, under boards and stones, moist places, fir needles, meadows, prairies, grass, shrubs. Has also been collected among cobble-stones close to rivers and in grassy fields (Hancock, pers. obs.).

Details About Males

Description:  Carapace a dark brown covered with small tubercles which are the bases of fine hairs. Legs a uniform orange. Abdomen a red-brown with a yellow T-shaped mark towards the anterior end, also two pairs of red impressed spots or sigillum.

A+B = 2.2 mm  A = 1.1 mm  C = 0.92 mm
