Life & Natural History: Collected from Carthew Lake at 2209m, under slabs of sandstone, part of a ridge that holds back the waters of the lake. Site having a south/west aspect and a gentle slope of 3%. The lake’s level is maintained be melting snow. August 13th was the date of collection and both adult females and males were taken (with great care). Sub-adults of both sexes were also present as were spiderlings, fully pigmented within egg-sacs. This species was discovered in 1917, and there is still a thriving community here.
