Feeding Guild: ambushers
Feeding guild when noted defined by Uetz, G. W., J. Halaj, and A. B. Cady. 1999. Guild structure of spiders in major crops. Journal of Arachnology 27:270-280. PDF
Recorded Habitats: Branches of conifers, litter in coniferous forests (Dondale & Redner, 1978). Most often found within conifer forests above ground within the tree, but has been taken in pitfall traps on the forest floor. Wide range fo habitats from town gardens to riparian and forests (Hancock, pers. obs.).

Details About Males

Description: Carapace mottled red-brown, with pale V and light mottled area anterior to dorsal groove. Legs mottled red-brown and off-white. Dorsum of abdomen with paired orange-brown areas separated by broad pale median area. Tegular ridge is near the center and the hook on the ventral tibial apophysis is very small (Dondale & Redner, 1978).

Description: Carapace light mottled red-brown, with pale V and light mottled area anterior to dorsal groove. Legs light mottled red-brown and off-white. Dorsum of abdomen with paired orange-brown areas separated by broad pale median area. Epigynum has a small flat median septum (Dondale & Redner, 1978).
