General Comments: The known range of this species is Alaska to Nova Scotia, southward to California, Texas, and Virginia. It has also been collected in Europe, Asia, and North Africa (Dondale and Redner, 1978).

Description: Carapace spotted and streaked with red brown on a yellow background. Pale V-shaped marking anterior to dorsal groove. Indistinct dark longitudinal bands in lateral areas. Legs brown or red brown. Abdomen brown yellow, distinct heart mark, paired toothed marks (Dondale and Redner, 1978).
